After reading Munro's 'Ancient Scottish Lake-Dwellings or Crannogs', I really liked the idea of an isolated crannog, only accessible by dugout canoe so I decided to create one without a walkway, and far enough out in the water to escape the midges (maybe?). The structure is based on the example that stood on Loch Tay. Sadly it was recently destroyed by fire but I hear that plans are already underway to rebuild and with additional huts so I will be excited to watch the progress.
The landscape was created using Blender GIS so is based on the actual landscape surrounding Loch Tay. The little rock oil lamps light the way home and inside the hut the warmth from a welcoming fire has caused some of the snow to melt away on the roof.
